For sale I have a true barn find 1990 Chevy Corvette ZR-1. It literally was in storage in a barn for about the last 12 years. These ZR-1 Corvettes are getting pretty rare and there weren’t very many produced, even fewer that are in good shape.
Overall the car is in great condition for it’s age, it started right up and has been running great. We gave it a thorough cleaning and checked it over.
We found a few small issues that are noted here:
The idler pulley is screeching and will need rebuilt. Pretty common for this engine and you’ll hear it in the video of the engine running.
The INFL Rest light comes on when you go over 5mph. This is part of the seatbelt system and also a fairly common issue with this year of Corvette. There are multiple fixes listed online but this light doesn’t affect it in any way nor is there any safety issue it’s most likely a bad sensor.
The tires are pretty old and have flat spots from sitting. While you can drive it the bad tires make for a rough ride. I’d suggest putting this on a trailer or bringing some new tires.
The rims, while original corvette, are not correct for this year of corvette, these came off a 91 or later. Pretty common for vette owners to trade rims, but needs to be stated that these are Vette rims just not period correct.
Paint – Overall it’s in pretty good condition, especially considering this car is 30 years old now. That said, it’s 30 years old and while it looks like it’s been taken care of, there are imperfections and fading in spots etc.
Aside from the above issues though, this car is really clean and would be a great collector or daily driver. It has very low miles for its age and with a little TLC would be a great addition to anyone’s fleet.
I have more pictures of the car as well as a video of it running here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1GkO2AhPIsjAuVRdh-DDBUmsuuHJr5bUc?usp=sharing
For shipping, the car is located in Scottsbluff NE and the buyer is responsible for shipping or picking it up. Please do note what I said about the tires. It starts and runs fine so no biggie getting it on a trailer, or possibly driving it home if you get new tires. We may be able to trailer and deliver this to Denver CO for a small fee, if you’re interested in that option please get in touch before bidding to see if it would be possible to do so.
