Up for bid is this fancy 1977 Lincoln Continental, marked by history as the longest Lincoln ever made! This ol’ car was found sitting in a garage, parked since 1983. According to the previous owner, this Lincoln belonged to his late father who parked the car with a substantially low amount of miles. The current reading from the odometer (which does work) shows only 9,099 miles. Upon getting the vehicle back to the shop, we began to revive the car that had been sitting up for over 35 years. In doing so, we replaced the oils and all the typical tune up stuff to get the car up and running again fairly quickly. We also had to replace some of the brake parts from sitting up, including hoses, calipers, etc.. While having the car on a lift, we were able to examine the undercarriage which is a little rough for the said amount of miles. It appears the car had been wrecked at some point on the front end and repaired with a paint job that has some flaws. Overall, the car looks very decent for its age. This vehicle is equipped with a 7.5L 460 V8 engine that currently cranks right up and runs smooth with no smoke, knocks, or internal noises. We were able to remove the valve covers and examine the valve train in which looked to be super clean and in excellent shape. The car is equipped with an automatic transmission that shifts through all the gears smoothly as it should. Although the car seems to be currently running and driving good, but is still a 45 year old car that has been sitting up for over 35 years. Anything could happen, so we would suggest the car be trailered to avoid any unknown problems that could arise between here and your destination. We had to put a new set of tires around the car, which replaced the original factory Michelins that had the accurate date code from 1977 to match them being the original tires as well as the original warranty to those tires in the glove box. On the exterior of the car, as stated above, the paint job isn’t perfect, but ended up shining up well once we ran a buffer across it. It does have some door dings, mainly across the driver side, hood, and roof as well as some paint chips here and there. There is no rust through on the car sheet metal or the frame, but does have some of the factory undercoating flaking off from the bottom of the undercarriage. This Lincoln came factory with a vinyl top that is in decent shape for its age, but does have a couple small tears that have been repaired. The hideaway headlights work as they should off the engine vacuum. All the exterior lights work as well as the small ones integrated into the vinyl top, even the power antenna works as it should. On the interior of the car, it was a little dirty when we started, but after vacuuming and shampooing it out, it cleaned up pretty decently, but once again not as clean as one might expect in a 9,000 mile car. All the power windows and door locks work as well as the stereo. The AC isn’t currently working, as it was missing a belt when we found the car and never replaced it. Keep in mind, with this being a low mileage car, it is still an old unmaintained car that has been sitting up most of its life in not so perfect conditions. In our opinion, this was never anyone’s show-winning prize possession, but rather a car that was wrecked early in its life and parked due to the driver’s age and physical disabilities at the time. This car comes with a clean Texas title as well as the original metal protecto plate and any other original paperwork we might have. We were able to film and put together a video of the car as we found it and the work done to get it back up and going again and have attached the link below. Be sure to watch through the video to see a more in depth visual of the car, how we found it, as well as its current condition and walk around. Serious bidders only, car is being sold as is with a auction and a .99 cent starting bid. Any questions, please be sure to text 903-219-7412 before bidding. Buyer responsible for pickup or shipping the car from its location in Bogata Texas. Once again, although the car does currently run and drive good, I would recommend hauling the car rather than attempting to drive it home. We’ve driven the car locally, but haven’t put alot of miles or any major road trips under its belt since its been revived. $250 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end with the remainder due within 3 days of auction end, preferably through bank wire transfer. Be sure to watch the video below for more details. Thanks and happy bidding!!
