This listing is for my custom Jeep j10 pioneer model project. It is made from three-donor vehicle: first is obviously the j10 body, a great pickup design from the 70s that I love; the second was a 05 Ram 1500 that the engine, automatic transmission, ecm and manual shift transfer case came from (5.7 Hemi and 545rfe), they have roughly 135,000 miles on them; and third is the 09 Ram 2500 (pictured) that the frame, steering, brakes, axles and suspension came from.
The wheels are later power wagon and new Kenda R/T 35×10.50-17. I have shortened the frame to achieve the correct wheel base for a j10. It has new custom length driveshafts. The exhaust is mostly factory 09, so quiet which is what the goal of this truck was from the beginning as I use it mostly for hunting or gathering fire wood.
I have been driving this build since May 2022 (the month I got it running). I also built a front winch bumper for it (very heavy) and put on a 12k badlands winch – works good.
Other things that are new are carpet, seat cover, door weather strip, oil pressure gauge, water temp gauge (these are the only working gauges), the headlights and taillight work great – the headlights are LED and make a huge difference at night. The heater works, as it was a must for getting firewood. The vacuum-controlled doors on the heater box, not so much, so I clamped it open to get the heat in the cab.
Other small things that need work/fixed: the wiper motor has power but seems too weak to move the arms; the rear right leaf spring has a broken leaf that I never replaced as it rides plenty stiff already; and lastly, I think the alternator is overcharging the battery – after a 20-mile drive, the relays in the fuse box feel hot and the truck sometimes won’t start after shutting it off for 5-10 minutes then will fire back up and run fine again – wiring is my weakness grrrr.
The frame has had POR-15 brushed on it.
The roll bar is out of my Golden Eagle and is not included in the sale if the truck meets reserve price.
