1977 Ford Pinto Squire Wagon 2.3 liter with 31k miles. This car is a Minnesota, rust free, single family owned survivor. I think it would be tough to find another one as clean as this. This car has an interesting story that is near and dear to me. The original owner bought the car new at AandB Motors in Barnesville, MN. which happens to be my home town. She kept every piece of paperwork from the sale. I have the original hand written dealership sale receipt for the vehicle. The AandB Motors key chain is still attached to the key. The protecto plate is included, build sheet, owners manual, and a welcome to Barnesville, MN. brochure/booklet. The vehicles first oil change tag is still hanging on the side of the dash at 2,802 miles from the dealership. Her son claims that the plastic remnants on the drivers seat is that of the original seat covering from the dealership when she bought it. Of course I can’t prove it but he had no reason to lie about such a thing. His mother always babied the car, and it wasn’t driven in the winter. It was always garaged or in a shed. She passed away and the son then titled the vehicle in his name. I have the original issue title that was never signed off, due to her passing . Everything about the car is original other than I replaced the front rotors, calipers, and brake pads as well as new brake shoes in the rear. I replaced the headlight switch with an NOS assembly and the ignition coil is new. I did re-paint the lower outer area below the wood grain on the sides of the car due to chipping. Otherwise 90% of the car still remains original. I refinished it with acrylic enamel just as it was originally from the factory. All door jambs, inner door bottoms are original. Pictures of the underside of the car show the condition of floors and rockers. They have paint chipping but are just as solid as they ever were. This car was never undercoated so you can see all the original spot welds. The car runs/drives just as it should for a low mileage Pinto. One pump with the accelerator, turn the key, and it is quietly running. All the weather strips are nice and soft and basically new yet. All glass is good. I don’t really have to say much about the interior, I think it speaks for itself. Still looks brand new. The hood has some stone chips, and the body has some parking lot door dings but nothing bad. Everything works as it should, dome lights, door buzzer, AM radio and speaker. Heater hoses are capped off probably due to no winter driving. I pointed out some bad spots in the paint due to bird crap staining. Love the car for what it is, and the paperwork to go with it but I need to make some space.
