A RARE BARN FIND!!! 1977 Chevy G10 window van This is a restoration project. I was told it was barn stored since 1995, And was put back on the road sometime in 2025 which was before I got it. At one time it had a homemade interior which was removed by the previous owner. The interior was removed due to mouse house as this was a barn stored van, Interior was cleaned up and all damaged parts removed.
Powered by the 250 straight six. Automatic transmission, and yes, it has A/C!! (I am guessing either aftermarket or dealer installed. It appears it is still using R12, and the compressor is in operation) Van starts, stops, runs, and drives like a 77 chevy van. Fresh oil change, (by me) collector plates, clear title, the roof vent opens and closes and does not leak. All the doors weather strips are dry rotted as you can well imagine as everything is original when it comes to the body.
the following was done by the previous owner. New fuel tank and hoses, new exhaust from the header pipe back, new front brakes and calipers, good used tires were put on all the way around,(Rears are P235/75R15 & Fronts are P215/70R15 Recently balanced. And has full size spare, (not much for a tire. But it is a spare.) Vintage Kraco AM/FM/CASS. Stereo matched to those “thumping” 8ohm box speakers that still works, all glass is good with no cracks or “fogging” Newer belts, hoses, water pump. LED dome lights (see night picture for their lighting quality) Now please keep in mind, this is a 49-year-old van. So, it isn’t going to drive like grandmas Chrysler. Town & Country.
Yes, it has rust, Underside looks worse than it is. Frame looks solid, Also has dings, and small dents But the body has far less rust than what you see on vehicles that are only a few years old. It has the original paint and from what I can tell has never been in a major crash. And how often do you see a 49-year-old vehicle with a full set of hub caps and trim rings? And mud flaps of the same period! I even added a picture of the old license plates to show when it was last on the road. If you look at the pics. you will notice the crease in the sliding door was pulled out.
