I ‘rescued’ this cool Mercedes bus this Summer — It has very low original miles , and I have some records on it as well. Has not been used regularly since about 2010 . Brakes work , tires hold air, transmission works great, and it will start and run off of a remote can, but not shut off easily and not run reliably. Will need attention to the fuel system to be a daily driver.
Has the Mercedes OM314 BIG 4 – cylinder commercial diesel engine.
Previously used as a church bus, but last owner gutted (more or less) and added Mercedes Sedan seats and some Westfalia items, and a bed platform. Used as a camper after that.
Roof has rust in the rear , there used to be a giant air conditioning unit on the roof. No longer there and it likely leaked its water on hots days all over the roof and caused the corrosion.
Very cool vintage look, and a very desirable drivetrain. I bought this as I have had several in the past as well as UNIMOGs / etc, and really like them. I do not have space for this any longer and do not want it to sit outside over the winter. Here is your chance to get a commercial quality camper van that looks great and will be easy to drive/ get great mileage for what it is and can do .
