1969 Volkswagen VW Beetle Rolls Royce kit car. This is a solid car with very little rust. There is a small rust spot below the right rear window (see pics) and a few small soft spots under the landau roof and that is all the rust I have found on the car. I am guessing the soft spots on the roof were caused by water infiltration through the vinyl over the years. There are maybe two 4-6 inch diameter soft spots that I can feel.
I have used a brillo pad on the front and rear bumpers and they look better now than they did beforehand…very little rust and pitting.
Additionally, I have been working on the hubcaps to give them more of a Rolls vibe. All four are done and I bought a new set without the spinners and Rolls logo, just in case one gets lost while driving. The spinners I bought on Amazon and the Rolls center decals I bought on ebay.
There is a tow hitch, which can be put on or taken off easily by sliding it into 2 brackets that are welded to the frame and then bolting with four bolts. When you buy it, remind me to get the hitch, as it is removed from the vehicle right now.
The floor beneath the battery has corroded away and was replaced some years back by someone else with a piece of 3/8″ plywood. The area under the battery is solid, but you may want to cut that area out and spot weld a new piece of steel to restore this area to 100%.
