For sale: 1969 Chevrolet K10 4×4 western survivor. Starts, runs, and drives out well, it’s currently my daily. Sold new at City Chevrolet in Great Falls, Montana, rare factory black with saddle interior. It’s an intact, correct truck with matching numbers on VIN plate, SPID tag, and frame. Original engine with correct block stampings, even running original spare tire carrier. A friend bought this truck in 2019 from the long term fireman owner, and he sold it to me earlier this year when he got a chance to buy another truck he’d been after. It’s not a CST, but was ordered with the RPO BX2 woodgrain lower body moldings as called out on the SPID. While it’s never seen salt, it DOES HAVE some rust where mud builds up and holds moisture on the lower cab – see close up pics in Flickr album link below. Overall it’s solid without the sitting-at-the-bottom-of-a-lake rot so often seen on midwest or eastern trucks. Might make a good ranch/work truck or plow rig for the cabin. It’s running a pair of the rare GM accessory driving lights, part number 2234658/2234606. I do have the hubcaps (3 of the originals and one 73-up). Vintage license plates shown come with the truck. I’ll try my best to describe this cool truck below. Please see YouTube walk around video and Flickr album with 100+ detail pics.

Exterior: Paint has nice shine with perfect patina. Truck was repainted once long ago with what appears to be lacquer. (see detail pics in Flickr album below). Does have numerous small parking lot bumps and bruises as shown. A few small hail dings that don’t show up in pics or video, but they are there. As mentioned above, it DOES HAVE some rust in the lower cab, most notably in the rockers, outer floor supports, etc. The cab corners have had some previous repairs. It’s a solid truck, thankfully here out west we don’t see windshield frame rust or frame rot. Glass is good and windshield is new. Grille has a spot broken out behind one driving light. The bolt hole areas on the box floor have been reinforced with a small bead of weld in a couple of spots.

Interior: Very presentable, no rodents or smells, even the wife likes it. Seat has a few tears under the blanket cover. I believe most everything works- lights, wipers, heater, horn, etc. Fuel gauge was working, but recently quit. I suspect the float sunk, I grounded the gauge wire as a test, and gauge works. Should be an easy fix since tank is behind the seat. Parking brake functions, but needs adjustment as it won’t hold the truck on a hill. Windows roll up and down and doors lock with same key that matches ignition. Radio is non-op. Glass is good and windshield is new this year, but there are a few small scratches in the bottom left corner of the windshield – not sure how or when that happened. The original SPID tag is worn/faded, so I ordered a correct replacement SPID and it will be included, but not installed. See Flickr album pics.

Mechanical: Original 350 four barrel 4 speed drive train starts, runs, and drives out well. Pulls very strong with no weak cylinders, noises or noticeable smoke. Shifts fine and 4wd works in both high and low range. Power steering with manual drum brakes. Engine suffix code stamping WN matches original application of 1969 255HP truck 350 4 barrel with manual transmission. The truck was well maintained, and it’s a daily driver that has had the following recent work:

New radiator, water pump, hoses, belts, all tune up parts, fuel tank & sending unit, battery, exhaust, tires.

It will need a master cylinder, it seeps a bit of fluid and if the truck sits long enough the fluid level in one reservoir will be down. All in all it’s a complete, running and driving K10 that isn’t horribly rusty. It’s . Keep in mind that transport cost is higher now than last year, with fuel prices where they are, and bid accordingly.
