Original 1965 Chevrolet El Camino. This little pickup was not a Barn find, but a Farm find! It was acquired from the estate of an elderly couple. The El Camino has been sitting on their property since 1999. Prior to that it was used locally around town and on their small horse ranch. It now has current registration in California. The engine starts up and runs very smoothly. It has the original Chevy small block 283 with a 3-speedmanual transmission on the “tree”, with a pull-handle overdrive. It was manufactured in Fremont, California and has always remained in the moderate climate of Northern California. As such, the frame and undercarriage are essentially rust free due to the mild climate and the fact that salts are not used on California roads. The odometer reads 53,037 miles, although based on the overall visual of the engine I think the odometer may have rolled over making the miles 153,037. I’m just not sure. The engine is complete, all original, and in running condition. This El Camino is all stock and original, except for the paint. It appears that it was repainted long ago to it’s current Burgundy color. The pickup is very complete, missing only the grill badge and the Chevrolet lettering on the hood. All other original trim and badging is there and in very good condition. It does have some rust in the usual places, such as in small areas of the bed and the lower rocker panels, which are easily replaced with aftermarket patch panels. The El Camino comes with it’s period correct removeable Protect-O-Top shell. This is an amazing opportunity to own a fully original classic El Camino that has been untouched by modifiers for 57 years! Finding one that is still in its completely original condition is becoming near impossible. You can keep it as a full original or as a fresh blank canvas for your personalized custom.
