This car was part of a collection of low mileage ’59’s that were purchased by a collector in NY in the 1980’s, and then moved to a building in FL in the early 1990’s when he retired. The cars have not been started, but they turn over.
This car has not been driven since he purchased it in 1988. It was a California car when new. It has 6-way seat, power vents, AC, power door locks, and dealer installed vintage seat belts. It has 15,798 original miles.
The interior is like a brand new car except for some cracking of the leather on the drivers side seat back. I’m told this can be repaired. The seat foam is soft, not hard. The headliner is perfect like the day it was installed. Original mats look like new, original spare in the trunk has never been used. The paint is bad on the hood, roof, trunk and top of the fenders from the dust and heat in the Florida building. The front chrome is an 8+ out of 10, 7 out of 10 in the back. The stainless is like new. All the rubber is like new. All 4 original T-3 headlamp bulbs are present.
The engine compartment has not been cleaned or painted, except for the battery tray. The car has never been undercoated and has no rust, just a dusting of surface rust on the frame. The car will need exhaust, brakes, water and fuel pumps, belts, hoses and fluids changed to get it running. The car rolls and stops with the emergency brake.
