My dad Loved this 53 Imperial and i spent alot of time riding in it back in the late 1970’s.Dad drove this Imperial into the garage back in 1982.He stopped driving it because the transmission started to make this noise when the engine was shut off ” Something in the torque-convertor “.I remember as a kid helping my dad rebuild the brakes.I helped dad in 2008 start the Imperial and run the 331 hemi engine.His dream was this Stick shift set-up i still have a lasalle Transmission with bolt-on floor shifter.I have a picture of this lasalle trans and mounting plate.I can tell you the body is Straight and there is very little rust ? ” The rocker panels have some rust which i have a New re-placement set “.Also Dad always said that 53 was a bad year for Stainless/Chrome “.The interior/Headliner are good shape just needing a really good cleaning, but the steering wheel is cracked badly.It has power windows/steering.and seat. There is 40 years of dust on it.I have a NOS master cylinder, and original hubcaps to give to the buyer along with some other odds and ends.There is a set of Kelsey Hayes wire wheels and tires that can be purchased for the car and i have many other Imperial parts extra stainless chrome.I have more pictures so ask?.The air cleaner is in the trunk.
