I bought this really cool and solid survivor barn find 53 chevy 3100 1/2 ton truck back in 2016 to add to my personal collection of classics. I bought it, brought it home to Waukon iowa, and got it running and driving and have been using it around my local town for advertising my business and driving it around our farm and to our local trout streams during summer. This Chevy 1/2 ton shortbox has a amazing patina and cool survivor look.This truck rides and drives great for not being restored and original. It handles down the road well and steers easy. The 4 speed manual shift shifts all gears and the 216 engine runs great and starts right up. This is not a restored truck but something we use often to drive short mile long type distances. The tires are older and show weather check but hold air and get the job done for what we used it for. If you took it to the next level I could see replacing them as they are pretty old. I left the body original with original paint. It is a very solid body overall. I saw some rust on the bottom of the inside lower driver door and I saw a cab corner on the driver side was repaired. The bed has a sheet of plywood in it. The brakes stop the truck for our country roads but I could see upgrading them if you were to use it on faster more busy roads. The speedo was not working. I bypassed the key to a toggle switch to turn it on and off. The seat is solid but the original upholstery needs to be redone, I used a leather seat cover on it. The glass on the passenger is good, the driver side door glass is missing. the windshield has a crack in it and the rear window has a crack in it. I left it as I think it adds to the originality and survivor quality. The truck floors looks good. The truck has a original visor on it which looks awesome. The frame looks good. This truck has a clean title matching the engine number. I do not want to overcall it or overcall it. watch the video and check out the pictures and call or message me with questions. While not a restored drive cross country truck, this is definitely something you can use right away around locally while you take it to whatever level you want. the plates and plate toppers and window air cooler do not go with the truck sale, I had them on it for advertising while at my dealership and are part of my personal collection.
