Knucklehead Garage/Carstore is pleased to offer this highly desirable 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Series 5-Window Pickup! We have been in the classic car business more than 40 years, selling hundreds of classic cars. I was selling classics long before it became the phenomenon it is today. I have the experience and knowledge to know a quality vehicle at a GREAT price. We are located in Grand Island Nebraska and are in the Midwest where you can still find a few “deals” on classic cars. Check our feedback and purchase with confidence. I will give you an accurate description of any vehicle we have in stock. Our customers are all over the United States and overseas.
This Chevrolet 3100 Series Pickup is currently running the Patina/Rat-Rod look. It features a 1975 Chevrolet Camaro Sub-Frame which we also believe was the donor vehicle for the 350 CU IN V-8 Engine and Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission and probably the rear-end as well. With the Camaro Sub-Frame you gain the quick power steering and front disc brakes. The pickup has very good road manners and is a TOTAL blast to drive.
We purchased the truck from a friend who had not used the pickup for over 8 years. After sitting this long it did need a few things. We installed a new gas tank w/sending unit and also installed a Edelbrock carburetor and a new fuel pump. We also upgraded the wheels with a set of period correct Chrome Rallye Wheels w/smoothie center caps and White Lettered Cooper Cobra tires.
The Interior features an Oldsmobile seat with power on both driver and passengerโs side. It looks like the Camaro was also the donor for the steering column and speedometer which looks a little odd, but it is functional. The miles showing on the odometer are 90,831, but we are not representing this as the actual miles on the vehicle. The title on the vehicle shows miles exempt. There is an overhead radio w/speakers, but the radio is not working.
The body on the 3100 series pickup is not perfect, but for its ages and without a restoration shows remarkably well. Only a few minor rust areas to speak of most notably at the bottom of the inner door jamb. There is a crack in the driverโs door window.
We have put more than 100 miles on the pickup to make sure it is reliable for you to drive and enjoy.
After having the 3100 series pickup out on a Friday night cruising through a few drive-ins we can tell you the pickup gets a lot of attention. The only thing we would do to the pickup if we were going to be a long hauler is add more modern gauges, as currently there is no gas gauge in the pickup. If you are just staying local it is working fine, on the long haul we would like more dash information.
