1951 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Rare and Complete! Rat Rod Runs and Drives!
Really cool old Caddy here! Super rare 1951 Caddy Series 62 Sedan. It is done up in your basic “Rad Rod” motif, but is a very complete car.
The original 331 Caddy engine is long gone and in its place is a 1969 Chevy 327 engine with a th350 (I believe) transmission which seems to shift well.
The car has an electric fuel pump and fires up nicely! The car has exhaust cutouts that dump right behind the front wheels, so it’s nice and loud.
It appears someone has heated the coil springs in the past, and given this thing the best lowrider stance you could ask for, albeit, not the best way to lower a car. Overall the body is really solid, with a nice patina as seen in the pics. The interior is mostly there as well including an unmolested dash with original radio and clock, as is most (if not all) of the super rare and hard to find exterior trim including the rear fender skirts, sombrero hubcaps, and original spotlight.
Mechanically, the car is unrefined, and mostly untested, though it drives down the road, stops well, and the engine seems to run like a top (actual history or condition of engine is unknown). Its already a sweet cruiser for going around the block (assuming no speed bumps) and with a little amount of work, you could have yourself a nice reliable Caddy unlike almost any other car on the road.
