1951 Bentley Mark VI Standard Steel Sports Saloon Offered here for your consideration is a right-hand drive 1951 Bentley Mark VI. Recently exhumed from 20+ years in dry storage, the steel 4-door sedan body is relatively solid and fully restorable. This classic model, Bentley’s first postwar luxury car, features a sliding sunroof as well as concealed rear-hinged front doors. Paint and moderate chassis decay will need to be addressed, along with a complete mechanical review, but the vehicle comes with a wide array of useable parts, including its numbers-matching 4-1/4 litre inline-six engine, already installed. The interior shows obvious signs of wear and disuse, but is complete and can be made whole again with a thorough cleaning, moderate upholstery repair, new carpets and headliner. Sold new by London dealer Charles Follett Ltd., chassis #B205LH has a known history with the Rolls-Royce Owners Club, having appeared in the The Flying Lady members magazine in 1959 and 1963 via two previous owners. This gem in the rough is awaiting a gentle hand to restore her faded glory or perhaps a discerning collector to display her as an untouched time capsule, in tribute to the unknown miles and memories contained in her chassis.
