Recently took this very desirable and difficult to find 1950 Studebaker convertible in trade. It is one of the few I have ever seen with an automatic transmission. We were told that the engine and transmission have been rebuilt, however we do not have documentation to support that. Speedometer shows 65,680.
It starts right up, runs smoothly, quiet, drives, shifts and stops well. Over all it is very straight. Like so many of these models, the floors rocker panels, right door bottom and trunk floor have seen better days and will need to be replaced. New floors and panels are readily available. The canvas top is worn out, but the convertible frame is in excellent shape and works well. The glass looks good all around and the windows roll up and down easily, except for the passenger door.
