Today we are offering an amazing garage / barn find. A 1940 Ford Standard Coupe that has not seen the light of day since 1975. Prior owner purchased this when he was a young man fresh out of the service. Opened up a garage business in the mid 1970s and stored the car away until recently. Unfortunately he passed away and we were able to acquire this 40 Coupe and a 81 Corvette. The car was buried in the corner of the barn where it took some time to get it out of the spot it was in. All we did was air up the tires, clean off the thick barn dust, free up the hubs, etc. We did file the points, clean the plugs, change the oil and got it to fire up. Motor sounds great. Will need the fuel tank cleaned as we were running it off a alternative fuel source. If you notice in the pics, we removed the fan belt as both water pumps were stuck. Got the one on the drivers side freed up nicely. One on the passenger side turns hard. We have another pair of water pumps we will include. Bought a brand new heavy duty 6 volt battery that is included. All the brakes appear to be fairly new but will need to be cleaned and master cylinder will have to be addressed. Exhaust is still intact and quiet. Tires are old and weather cracked but still hold air. The body on the car is quite exceptional. 99% rock solid. There is a little rust on passenger rear drip rail and a thin line on the very bottom of the lower rear quarter. Cant be seen from the outside but you notice it looking down from inside the trunk. Very minor. Floor pans, trunk pan, inner tubs, lower rear parts compartments, etc all real solid. No patches. Frame is in great shape front to back. Rear shocks were removed but are in the back compartments along with some inside door handles. Body is really straight. Where the fenders bolt to the car is in excellent shape also. Rear glass is fogged and needs replacement. Interior is showing its age and will need to be redone. Dash is all intact. An unbelievable platform to build the rod of your dreams or clean it up, do what it needs to get it on the road and drive it like it is. Will get more attention than a restored one. Probably missing something but feel free to call us with any of your questions or concerns at 1(207)432-2862. We are easy to deal with. Sold on a dealer bill of sale but if you need a title in your state we are willing to register the car and with that registration and our proper dealer paperwork you will receive a title in your state. We also have a number of extra parts that are available if the buyer is interested at extra cost. One drivers side 2 door Sedan door, One Passenger side Coupe door, two Hoods, Three drive shafts and a rear Drivers side Fender. We require a $1000 Non Refundable deposit at end of sale and balance due (bank wire transfer within 3 days of sales end).
