1917 Cadillac Type 55. Has been stored in a garage since the mid 80’s, and a shop since the 40s-50s before that. Shows 19727 miles.
Driveline & Frame
Driveline and frame is 98% intact.
Newer 1918+ engine.
The previous owner’s friend helped rebuild the engine in the mid 80’s. At the time they had to machine new rings and bearings(babbit?). Doesn’t have much run time because the car was disassembled before the engine was completed.
Engine holds 60psi hot. No abnormal noises. Some smoke from one bank but it could be the oil I dumped in the cylinders. I’ve only run it 5 minutes. I believe its 99% complete, just missing the starter shaft and could use a new primer cup
Engine number is 58M105. No info found on 58 prefix anywhere.
Clutch grabs good. All gears work. Transmission is quiet.
Brakes work.
Smooth steering. Not sloppy or worn out feeling.
Suspension is complete and doesn’t seem worn out.
Factory compressor and fuel system appear complete.
Radiator appears to be original honeycomb style. Doesn’t look bashed up or rotted.
Small spot of minor rust on passenger side. Weld at back end of frame.
Price: $4,000
